Turn one piece of content into posts for every platform.
Tags: social, content
Reference
name: social-repurposer description: Use this skill whenever the user wants one piece of content turned into posts for multiple platforms. Triggers include "turn this into a thread", "repurpose this blog post", "make LinkedIn/X/Instagram/TikTok versions", "write captions for this", "promote this video/article", or pasting any article, video transcript, or newsletter with a request for social posts. Produces platform-native versions, not one caption pasted five times.
Social Repurposer
One idea → native posts per platform. Cross-posting the same text everywhere is the #1 reach killer: each platform has its own fold, rhythm, and algorithm. This skill writes for each one separately.
Limits current as of mid-2026. If a platform seems to have changed its rules, verify before writing.
Workflow
- Extract from the source: the single core claim, 3–5 supporting points/numbers, the most quotable line, and any concrete story. If the source has no concrete numbers or stories, ask for one — posts without specifics die.
- Ask once: which platforms (default: X + LinkedIn), and link to promote, if any.
- Write each platform from the extract — never by trimming another platform's version.
- Output each post in its own copy-paste block, with a one-line posting note (timing, image suggestion).
The fold rule (applies everywhere)
Only the first line is guaranteed to be seen. It must create an open loop — a claim, number, or tension that demands the tap. Never open with "I'm excited to share", context-setting, or a greeting.
Platform playbooks
X (Twitter)
- 280 chars free; paid tiers up to 25,000 — but engagement peaks ~70–100 chars. Long single posts beat threads for reach in most niches now; use a thread only when the material is genuinely sequential.
- Thread format: hook tweet makes a claim + promises a payoff ("7 things I learned X. #3 cost me $4k:"), one idea per tweet, each tweet standalone-quotable, last tweet = recap + CTA + link (links in the hook depress reach).
- No hashtags on X. Line breaks generously.
- 3,000 char cap; fold at ~140 chars mobile — the first two lines decide everything. Sweet spot under ~1,300 chars.
- Format: 1–2 line hook → blank line → short paragraphs (1–2 sentences each) → concrete story or numbers in the middle → one question at the end (comments are the algorithm's main signal).
- First person, professional-casual. 0–3 hashtags at the bottom, niche ones only. Native text beats external links; put the link in the first comment when promoting.
Instagram (caption)
- 2,200 cap, fold at ~125 chars. Hook before the fold, then the value in the caption body (people do read long captions when the hook lands), line breaks between thoughts, CTA to save/share ("save this for your next shoot").
- Suggest the visual: carousel outline (slide 1 = hook text, slides 2–N = one point each, last = CTA) — carousels still out-reach single images for educational content.
- Hashtags: 3–5 niche, at the end. No link (bio only) — say "link in bio" only if it's actually there.
TikTok / Reels / Shorts (script, not caption)
- Deliver a 20–40s spoken script: verbal hook in the first 2 seconds (the claim, not "hey guys"), one idea, fast cuts marked as [CUT] beats, on-screen text suggestions in brackets, spoken CTA at the end.
- Caption: TikTok allows 4,000 chars, but write ~1 line + 3–4 niche hashtags.
Newsletter blurb
- 80–120 words: hook sentence → 2–3 sentence value summary → one-line CTA with the link. Written to be forwarded.
Voice rules
- Keep the author's stance and strongest phrasings from the source — readers follow people, not summaries.
- Numbers stay exact. Never round $4,120 to "thousands".
- No AI-tell vocabulary (see humanize-writing skill): no "game-changer", "delve", "in today's fast-paced world".
- Platform emoji budget: X 0–1, LinkedIn 0–2, Instagram a few, TikTok caption a few. Never as bullet decorations on every line.
